MyNaplan is an Australian website that helps parents understand NAPLAN and help their children prepare for it calmly. We publish plain-English guides, free practice tests built from real released NAPLAN questions, and practical writing resources for Years 3, 5, 7 and 9.
Why we built MyNaplan
MyNaplan was started by a Victorian parent of a primary school student. When NAPLAN came around, the useful information was spread across government PDFs, the practice material was hard to find, and much of what was easy to find was trying to sell expensive coaching. We wanted one clear, trustworthy place where parents could understand the test, see what the questions look like, and practise a little at a time.
What we believe
- NAPLAN is a snapshot, not a verdict. It’s one test on one day, and it doesn’t define a child.
- Familiarity beats cramming. Short, regular practice and a calm week help more than intensive coaching.
- Parents deserve plain English. No jargon, no scare tactics.
- Accuracy matters. We base our guides on official information from ACARA and state and territory test authorities, and we update them as things change.
How we create our content
Every guide is researched from official sources, including ACARA’s National Assessment Program website, the published NAPLAN writing marking guides, and state and territory test authority information. Each page notes when the information was last checked. Our practice tests use questions from released NAPLAN papers, and our writing prompts and sample answers are original.
MyNaplan is independent. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by ACARA, any state or territory education department, or any school.
